On the whole of us are so busy, you take food on the run, fast food places instead of taking time for healthy meals. The kids are so busy with after school activities and tasks that do not have time for healthy eating. It can be very hard when a family where everyone has to be in a different place at a different time, to provide good food.

We all want to be healthy, but often simply do not make the time. Being so busy we feel and need, and makes us feel good. But can you imagine what it would feel if the whole family gathered, and cooked a healthy meal a week? If you start with a meal, and enjoy it then it is easy to do it again and again.

Get the family together and have a gathering and discuss how each feels about having a healthy meal cooked a week, where everyone gathers at the dinner table. It is not just about food, it’s also about time for communication, the opportunity to meet and be a family.

Be sure to buy fresh vegetables and meat, and cooked from scratch. Only you can make a very healthy food when you know exactly what is in it. Even the youngest children can help set the table and can stack the dishwasher. Time is something you can not pay for to buy more time with family and is very important.

Yoga practise

Yoga is a mind-body control that can change you physically, mentally and spiritually. When practiced correctly it has the ability to heal and transform, and a regular routine of doing yoga often changes lives. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your yoga practice.

Breathe deeply and fully. Take complete breaths while you hold a pose to help you stretch deeper, remain focused and unlock any emotions that are locked inside your physical body. Inhale from the belly to the chest and exhale in reverse. Breathe in and out of the nose with the lips gently closed. Use ujjaii breathing which is an audible breath that will help you hold a pose longer and keep your mind present.

Relax into the stretch until you reach your edge. For example, if you are performing a leg stretch, focus on relaxing into it instead of struggling to reach further. As you relax into it you will come to a point of slight discomfort which is referred to as your edge. Stay at this point and focus on relaxing and breathing. When the edge no longer feels unpleasant then you can go deeper into the pose.

Accept yourself and let go of your ego. Try not to compare yourself to others who may seem more flexible or stronger than you are. Allow yourself to be perfect just as you are
