Vegetables for preventing cancer

A study just published indicated that the relation between eating fruits and vegetables and preventing cancer is not as strong as previously opinion. The study indicated that by eating more fruits and vegetables you are really not significantly reducing your chances of developing cancer and there are many other factors at play

Prostate Cancer – Studies have shown that men who had more than 2-3 servings per week of tomato products (i.e. tomato juice, tomato sauce, ketchup, etc) decreased their chances of developing prostate cancer

Colon Cancer – Folic Acid (or folate) has been strongly linked to a reduction in your chances of developing colon cancer.

Bladder Cancer – Studies have shown that definite cruciferous vegetables have been linked to a reduction in your chances of developing bladder cancer. The two vegetables that stand out are broccoli and cabbage and the study has indicated that eating these vegetables in just small amounts can reduce your probability of developing bladder cancer by as much as 40%!

Breast Cancer - A study conducted in 2005 by the Journal of Clinical Oncology indicated that breast cancer patients who ate more fruits and vegetables had a lower risk of re-developing their breast cancer.

So keep eating those fruits and vegetables, become healthier and eat your broccoli as it may just keep cancer out of your life!
